Hi, I’m Kaitlin DeMaagd — but most people just call me Dr. Katie.
I have a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, and I’m a certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of healthcare experience. My career has taken me through home-based primary care, geriatrics, and hospice. I’ve walked alongside patients and families in some of the most complex, emotional moments of their lives — and I’ve learned that the right support can make all the difference.
But my passion for elder care started long before any of that — with my grandparents and great-grandparents.
I’ve been blessed to know multiple generations of my family deeply. I’ve seen the beauty of aging, and I’ve also seen the heartbreak. I’ve been the listening ear, the care coordinator, the one who sat at appointments and asked the hard questions. And now, I’m here to do that for others — for you.
My grandparents call me Dr. Katie, so now you can too.
Why I Started This Work
Navigating the healthcare system can feel overwhelming, especially when it involves someone you love. My hope is to ease that burden by walking alongside you — helping you plan ahead, stay organized, ask the right questions, and feel confident in the decisions you’re making.
I’m not here to replace your primary care provider or give you a magic answer. But I can be a steady guide through a complicated process.

Why “It Is Well”?
If you’re familiar with the hymn, you might recognize these words:
“When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say: it is well, it is well, with my soul.”
This business is named for my great-grandmother’s favorite hymn. It reminds me that while aging can be beautiful, it can also be unpredictable, painful, and incredibly hard. My faith anchors me in the belief that even in the midst of sorrow, peace is possible — and we are not alone.
